Summary of Responsibilities: Lead the development and execution of all brand strategies in partnership with Sunovion and DSP colleagues that result in attainment of revenue growth and profitability targets. Ensure that resources, structures, relationships and processes enable the organization to maximize the commercial potential of all Sunovion Brands.
Essential Functions: •Lead the creation, execution of short and long-term brand objectives and strategies for all marketed and in-line products; including but not limited to, market research & insights, brand positioning, brand management, promotional advertising, brand budgets, forecasts, reimbursement and health economics strategies in close cooperation with cross functional peer groups.
•Work closely with the VP, Sales to ensure that the vision and mission of the portfolios are in line with the overall company goals and market needs.
•Develop and implement robust launch plans and manage timely sales and marketing roll-outs. Develop and implement product lifecycle plans.
•Ensure that commercial brand strategies incorporate input from critical resources (e.g. HEOR, AMS, Clinical Development, Managed Markets, Sales, etc.) to ensure successful brand launches and/or extensions as measured by a high adoption rate by prescribers, patients and payers upon market entry.
•Lead and manage teams to maximize individual and collective performance while ensuring teams are populated with high performing talent.
•Translate deep understanding of customer needs into a balanced pipeline strategy in co-operation with R&D, Business Development and Licensing teams in the US and globally.
•Influence selection of R&D pipeline assets which address strategy needs to guide prioritization in close partnership with R&D; participate in go/no go decisions of final product development and subsequent launch plans.
•Oversee development of brand level market reports that clearly illustrate current performance and trends, and where necessary, prescribe needed course corrections.
•Provide executive level interpretation of data and ensure that decisions are derived based on strong analytical rigor and deep understanding of market dynamics.
•Establish and promote positive and highly productive working partnerships with Commercial, R&D, and G&A colleagues as well as affiliate resources including alliance partners to ensure timely coordination of activities to drive desired growth and profitable targets.
•Lead effort to ensure brand strategies and operational plans meet prevailing external and internal regulations, ethical standards and policies. Promote through personal actions and business activities a highly compliant operating environment.
Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelors
Experience Required: 10+ Years
Knowledge & Skills (General and Technical): The successful candidate must possess sophisticated and proven marketing experience, ideally with a deep understanding of the CNS/ neurological arena. A solid understanding of the industry’s complex regulatory requirements and commitment to competing on the highest ethical level are essential. This individual must possess strong leadership, collaboration and team building skills. The ideal candidate will also possess the following attributes:
•A substantive record of accomplishment in leadership roles of progressive responsibility within the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry.
•Previous experience with specialty therapeutics including leadership of successful US product launches.
•Significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry from early stage through development and launch of the product.
•Extensive knowledge in global marketing and a solid understanding of market research, strategic planning, pricing, reimbursement and forecasting.
•Proven ability to develop and lead high impact brand teams and driving top and bottom line growth of sizable franchises.
•Widely recognized as a thought leader and effective business driver
•Experience outside of marketing in sales, finance, business development and broader corporate functions have additive value.
•Experience across multiple therapeutic areas and previous global experience is desirable.
•Ability to identify organizational issues and provide resolution by collaborating and aligning with all departments; Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Other Requirements (Licenses, Certifications, Specialized Training, Physical or Mental Abilities Required): B.A. or B.S. in Business or Science field required. A Master’s Degree/MBA is strongly preferred.
